Privacy Policy

Social Manager is a personal social media management application created by Rebecca Rae Barton. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, how it's used, and your rights regarding that data.

This is a personal project, not a commercial service. I believe in being straightforward about data practices.

What Data Is Collected

When you use Social Manager, the following information is collected:

Account Information: Your email address for authentication purposes
Social Media Credentials: Authentication tokens and credentials for connected platforms (BlueSky, Pinterest, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram)
Posts: Content you create, schedule, or publish through the app
Analytics Data: Performance metrics from your connected social media accounts

How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of Social Manager:

Authenticating you and keeping your account secure
Connecting to your social media accounts to post content on your behalf
Storing and scheduling posts you create
Displaying analytics from your social media accounts

Your data is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for any purpose other than operating this application.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored securely using the following practices:

Database: All data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database platform with built-in security features
Authentication: User authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with industry-standard security protocols
Sensitive Credentials: Social media credentials and tokens are encrypted before storage
Access: Only you and the application have access to your data

Third-Party Services

Social Manager connects to the following third-party services:

Supabase: Database and authentication provider (Supabase Privacy Policy)
Social Media Platforms: BlueSky, Pinterest, Threads, LinkedIn, and Instagram - each governed by their own privacy policies

When you connect a social media account, you authorize Social Manager to access that account according to the permissions you grant. Each platform has its own data practices which are outside the control of this application.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

Access: You can view all data associated with your account
Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time
Disconnect: You can disconnect any social media account at any time, which removes the stored credentials for that platform
Export: You can request an export of your data

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from the database.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated directly.
